Why We Started Viven: Building Digital Twins for the Enterprise

Introduction
When Ashu and I started Viven, the idea wasn’t just to build another AI company. It was to solve a problem we’ve lived through, over and over again: knowledge disappears faster than it’s created.
In every company I’ve worked with, I’ve seen brilliant ideas vanish in inboxes, decisions get lost in chat threads, and context evaporate the moment someone changes roles. Teams reinvent the wheel not because they want to — but because the memory of the organization doesn’t persist.
That’s the gap we set out to close.
The Seed of the Idea
During our journey building Eightfold.ai, we realized something fundamental: people are the true memory of an organization. But memory doesn’t scale. When people leave, or when leaders are forced to make decisions without full context, organizations slow down.
At the same time, AI was making huge leaps. Large language models could suddenly reason, communicate, and summarize. What if we could combine this intelligence with the real work of every employee — their documents, emails, meetings, decisions — to create a persistent, trustworthy digital counterpart?
That’s the genesis of Digital Twins.
Beyond Assistants, Toward Counterparts
When people hear “AI assistant,” they often think of something that answers questions or automates a task. Useful, yes. But not transformative.
A Digital Twin is different. It’s not just an assistant — it’s a living model of you at work.
It carries forward your decisions, context, and knowledge.
It briefs you before a meeting.
It helps your teammates when you’re unavailable.
It ensures your voice is still present even when you’ve moved on.
For leaders, Digital Twins create a living memory of the entire organization. Imagine being able to query the collective twin of your sales or product team and instantly see what’s happening across time zones, silos, and handoffs.
Why Now
We’re at a turning point in enterprise AI. CEOs everywhere feel the pressure: AI isn’t just another technology cycle — it’s a competitive reckoning. Some organizations will move faster and sharper; others will fall behind.
We believe the organizations that win will be the ones that preserve knowledge, remove friction from collaboration, and make faster, better decisions.
Digital Twins are how we get there.
Trust, Security, and Scale
We knew from day one that trust would be non-negotiable. Viven was designed with enterprise-grade security, pairwise privacy, and role-based access controls from the ground up. Training a twin is as natural as working — through your emails, documents, and conversations — but what it shares is strictly governed by privacy frameworks and audit trails.
We didn’t want compliance bolted on later. We wanted it in the architecture.
Looking Ahead
Viven is still early in its journey, but already we’ve seen the impact with customers like Genpact, The Josh Bersin Company, and others. They’ve cut onboarding time in half, kept decisions flowing across transitions, and created a living network of organizational memory.
Our vision is ambitious: Digital Twins for every employee, in every company, and eventually, for everyone. A future where knowledge never disappears, where decisions move faster, and where human potential scales beyond the limits of time and turnover.
That’s why we started Viven. And this is just the beginning.
